The ‘Racism Out’ initiative aims to create a more equitable and just society by addressing the different manifestations of racism in various industries in Australia.
“Racism Out” is a crucial initiative focused on dismantling the systemic racism embedded within Australia’s political, media, and economic structures. The campaign is founded on the belief that for democracy to truly serve all Australians, it must be free from racial prejudice.

In the first quarter of 2025, DeCo ran its Racism Out Of Politics campaign – an urgent call to action aimed at stopping the practice of using communities of colour as political scapegoats.
The campaign was launched in October 2025 with our In Conversation with Plestia Alaqad event in Sydney. The campaign demands accountability to create an inclusive media landscape.
